Guest blog: Layla the pug visits our Northampton hotel!

As a dog-friendly hotel chain, we recently had a lovely pug called Layla stay at our Northampton hotel with her owners. Here is their review through the eyes of Layla:

Hi guys! My name is Layla and I would like to share my wonderful experience I had at the weekend at Hotel Campanile in Northampton.

The hotel is in a perfect location just off of junction 15 on the M1. We arrived an hour earlier than check-in time as the traffic was very clear and thought we would pop in to see if our room was ready. We were warmly greeted by Massimo the general manager who seemed very happy to see me and gave me lots of fuss. We entered our number plate into the computerised screens by reception which allows free parking for the duration of your stay. Even though we were an hour early we were able to check in which was quick and easy.

We were shown to our room and I couldn’t wait to get in and explore. I was so excited when we got into the room as I had been left a hamper from Rosewood Pet Products. It included a lovely bed, travel water bottle, meaty chew toy and some delicious chicken fillet treats which I really enjoyed.

Our room was great, very spacious and light. There was a lovely big comfortable bed in the middle of the room, a fab sofa and a side unit with tea and coffee making facilities. We had a really big bathroom with a very modern walk in shower and best of all a great big mirror for me to pose in.

Massimo had given us a ‘Welcome to Northamptonshire’ book which was full of things to do around the local area including walks, stately homes and shopping. We headed to a little village called Stoney Stratford. It was a 15 minute drive from the hotel and the high street was full of quirky little shops and the parking was free.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi which is essential for me so I can keep up to date with my social media posts. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and a great speed.

When my little legs were tired we headed back towards the hotel and stopped at a lovely pub called The Grange Inn that was within walking distance of the hotel.

After we had a drink and I had received lots of fuss we headed back to the hotel. After a long day I was ready for bed and snuggled up on my new bed and watched some tv.

We all had the best night’s sleep – the bed was really comfortable, there was no noise and the temperature of the room was perfect.

After a great night’s sleep and a shower it was my favourite time of the day – breakfast!

The food was self service and there were lots of choice from pastries, fruit, yoghurts, breads & a full English breakfast and hot and cold drinks.

After a great breakfast we packed our things up and got ready to check out. I didn’t want to go home as we had been treated so well but all good things have to come to an end.

If you are looking for a pet friendly hotel the Hotel Campanile are a great choice – super friendly and a great price. Thank you so much for having me and my family

Lots of love,

Layla x
